Passion, Passing?

Passion is fleeting. This is well known.

What seems less well known is what one does when it flies from the scene, ass on fire, and abandons one. Anyone have any ideas?

Here is the issue hung up on the fulcrum: stay or go? For me, this is a perennial argument. Staying when I can't find more than an ounce of inspiration or motivation, or going toward the unknown but likely more interesting? Is it running away, or running toward?

I know my patterns. I know I tend to run when the heat is on. But after 7 years at the same thing, is it running after all? Is it merely the justifiable itch that comes with boredom, which, after all, should be a motivation, a sign?

The real issue is fear. If I tried something new, I would be risking failure, financial hardship, risk itself. My head spins with "what if? what if? what if?" What if I actually tried something new and I was not destitute, angry, abandoned or alone?

Hmmm.
