Freestyle.

I didn't know what to call this entry, because it's just random. Usually I have one theme or topic, but this is gonna be freestyle.

Five massages per day will be do-able, but I think four is better. My back is sore, but I don't think it's necessarily because of the massages. I stretched in between each one, I used good body mechanics. It's more likely the bed I'm sleeping in.

I learned some new Island lingo: "cross the park". This is what people on this side of the island say when they talk about leaving this side of the island. In order to get to town or to the ferry dock, you have to drive through Moran State Park. There is no other road. There is no other way except to take a motor boat. So, in parlance, it goes something like this: "Last year, I went four months without crossing the park."

I can't move into my cabin until tomorrow, perhaps in the afternoon, so I can't leave the island yet. My car is packed to the gills with my random shite, and until I empty the car, I'm not taking it off the island. The ferry ride was $42, and damned if I'm going to do that one again. Eventually I will unpack, take the car to my parents' house, and then just use my motorcycle. There are several gravelly spots in and around the park that I am NOT HAPPY TO HAVE TO NAVIGATE, but I'll be philosophical and accept this opportunity to reconcile my relationship with gravel.

I think I'll take a mellow hike today. Since I can't move into my cabin, I might as well explore. There is a private back way into the park from here, and I can muck about most of the day. I'll bring lunch.

I can tell that I will need to have activities planned for my down time. Some things I can do are:
- make earrings (girl squeals!)
- work on my website and accompanying blog
- pay bills
- hike
- yoga
- omgym (www.omgym.com)
- kayak
- make daisy chains
- blog
- listen to podcasts of Car Talk; Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me; Dan Savage; Whad'Ya Know; and anything else I can get over the internet
- see what arrived in that special red Netflix envelope today
- go home and see my kitties and my other-island peeps

I just know that all my stuff won't fit in my room. I am going to have to take some things back. That's okay. Leaving my camping gear at my mom's is cool. I'm not going to be camping on the island. Skinnydipping, soaking, hiking, yes, but camping? No.

Okay, it's time to face the morning. Soak, hike, lunch, hike, soak. The natural order of things.
