One Week

One week left until the boobies go bye bye. How amazing that the time is close. Seems surreal.

I got good advice from a friend the other day. He said, "Just go on auto-pilot." He's right. Everything's in place; I can just move through this last week with confidence. And so I am.

I have noticed myself focusing on the positive lately, especially when the first reaction is to think of the negative. It's a great feeling. I know that whatever irrational thoughts come into my head, they can be instantly replaced with my excitement about the eventual outcome. I'm going to have smaller breasts. I'll be more comfortable. I'll be able to wear shirts of some reasonable size, and perhaps even wear jackets. Imagine, a button-down shirt where the buttons don't exist just to create funky gaps.

This week is full of fun stuff:

-a hike (maybe Tonga Ridge, for blueberries?)
-a mellow day over the water
-the Bye-Bye Boobies party
-reading
-a movie in a theater (I almost never do this)
-packing
-family time
-lots of good drugs (after surgery, I mean!)

Looks like I'll be recuperating at TinyMom[tm]'s house. Apparently I will be quite uncomfortable after surgery and might need some help with butt-wiping and other ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). Not something I expect my gay Mexican husband to do for me, however close we are! We thought my recovery would be less, um, personal, and that I'd be able to get well at the Manse, but that is not to be. Perhaps I'll stay a few days there after I can wipe my own bottom. I'd love to walk to Mirch Masala and have some of their delicious lunch buffet, and to stop into the Castle store and the bead store and Dick's Drive-In and all the various little fun shops. Window shopping.

Just a week left! Wow!
