Today I used mom's season tickets to go see the Saints/Eagles game in the dome with son. In case you haven't seen it yet, the Saints are now 5 and 1 after kicking a tie breaking field goal with 3 seconds left in the game. What a rush live football is. I really needed an afternoon of screaming, cheering, and jumping up and down.

The dome was LOUD! Eagles fans were commenting that they don't know how anyone could beat the Saints in the dome because it is so loud. I may not have a voice tomorrow and I am sure that son's vocal nodules will be flaring up again by tomorrow.

I realized how long it had been since I went to a Saints game when the first field goal was kicked. In the past, whenever Morton Anderson made a field goal he donated $1000 to the New Orleans Children's Hospital. After the first field goal I was waiting for the donation announcement when I realized that Morton isn't here anymore and hasn't been for a while.

Meanwhile, Miss Teen and husband went to Algiers for an Oktober Fest. Husband was playing music and Miss Teen was forced to tag along. Apparently she made good use of her time because she finished the latest book she has to read for NOCCA. I think this is the fourth novel they have read since school started 9 weeks ago. This one is a Toni Morrison book which is interesting because I had just given her "Beloved" to read the day before. Now she wants to finish it also so that she has background info on Ms. Morrison. When she reads like this I know that the commute to NOCCA is worth it. (NOCCA is in New Orleans, we live 45 miles away. She spends the morning at her regular high school and then commutes for the afternoon classes at NOCCA).

The high point in Miss Teen's life is that she is going to homecoming at not one but two schools! She is going to her high school's homecoming dance with a girl in her Algebra class. Apparently, they think that being tied to one date is boooorrrring and after enjoying their evening hanging together at Sadie Hawkins they want to do homecoming the same way. Works for me.

Miss Teen is also going to homecoming at one of the other high schools in town. She knows lots of kids that go there from acting in the local theatre with them. Friday she decided to go to their football game with a friend from the theatre. While at the game, she reconnected with a boy who went to the same PRESCHOOL as her. That boy, Miss Teen, the friend from theatre and friend's boyfriend are all going to the across town homecoming together. Miss Teen tells me that preschool boy and her are "just friends", but the phone has been getting overtime use today so I am not sure I completely believe that story. Before the big evening I'll have to remind her of our code "come get me now" phrase and have a chat about physical contact. Joy. Preschool Boy also happens to be the one that she had a crush on at age 4.

All in all, everyone here has had a good weekend. Let's hope the week goes just as well.
