Miss Teen called upon Jesus the other morning when she was upset, but she wasn't praying. The next day she referred to her father's attitude as similar to a female canine.

So, since she can't control her verbage she is grounded from all phone conversation for 3 days. No cell, no land line, no talking except in person and politely.

Last night her friend called. The one who calls EVERY DAY, TWO OR THREE OR FOUR times a day. "I'm sorry, Miss Teen can't come to the phone. She is grounded from the phone until Friday." It is sinful how wonderful it felt to tell this friend that there is no reason to call. Forgive me, but friend of teen drives me crazy. She loves to be loud, obnoxious, silly and calls all the time.

Our phone didn't ring anymore for the rest of the night.

As an aside, I figured out how to know what to take away from Miss Teen when she needs to be disciplined. It is simple. Whatever she is doing at that moment, take it away. If she is talking on the phone, the phone goes. If she is listening to the stereo, the stereo goes. If she is watching TV, the TV goes.

I love when I figure out a shortcut in parenting.
