My New Year's Eve was uneventful. Son went to the barn where they were having a Huge bonfire. Husband joined him after his gig ended. (When I inquired as to the ending time for the gig, he replied 7 or 7:30 depending on when they decide to call it a New Year. He was playing at a retirement community.)

Miss Teen was supposed to go to some sort of event at a church with a friend, but the youth pastor got sick and the event was cancelled. She took it amazingly well and played SIMs most of the night. At 11 she got grouchy, so I went to bed.

My father died at 12:30am on Jan. 1, 2000. Ever since then I have lost the little bit of interest I used to have in New Year's frolics.

My rib is doing much better. It only hurts to sneeze or cough and even then it no longer hurts enough to make me want to cry. I figure in another week I'll be back to baseline.

This is the year I will get back into shape. Son has been terrible for my physical condition. He was a high maintenance baby, a wild toddler and I coped with his dyslexia/ADD by eating chocolate. Before he came into my life I was rollerblading 6-8 miles a day, but not anymore. Unfortunately my body is showing the signs of age and it is time to conteract those. We have a home gym, a swimming pool, my rollerblades, a very nice bike and son's horse. If I can't find something fun to do to get reconditioned then shame on me.
