I went back to work today after my Second four day weekend in a row. I like these four day weekends.

It was such a nice day at work. Most of what I saw were kids that I saw in the past two weeks who were low sick. Now they were back for rechecks and they all looked Great. And that, gentle readers, is why I take care of kids and not adults. They. get. better. The end point of adult medicine is always death, eventually. I hardly ever have a child die.

One of my New Year's intentions is too dress more like I care about myself. It must have been very necessary. As I walked up to my nurse this morning to ask her something, she stopped dead in her tracks and said, "Look at you, you look great and you even have on makeup." Thanks, I guess.

Tomorrow I have my regular day off. That means I *get* to take Miss Teen to the doctor, go grocery shopping, drive to NOCCA, and try to do some laundry. What an exciting life.

It is very nice to have home life back to routine and office life showing success. It gives me a break from my emotional turmoil of parenting a teenage girl, living in a post disaster zone, and having some very close friends fighting very serious illnesses.
