5am and the alarm goes off. I go wake up hubby, who was sleeping on the couch because he was on call last night. On my way back to bed I realize that I can. not. breathe. Crud. I have lost the battle against the cold virus. At least it is my day off, maybe I can sleep all morning after the rest of the family leaves.

Hubby asks me to pleeeeeeease drive the kids to school because he has three admissions to write up from the night before. Crud. Put a sweatshirt over the clothes I slept in and throw on a baseball cap. Husband takes a look at me and asks if I am sick. Duh.

Drive kids to school, which involves the 30 mile drive to son's school. While driving son asks if I am sick and pets me on the arm.

Get hold of sister to see if she wants to go have coffee before she takes pictures of dead people. Meet sister for coffee. She takes one look at me and thankfully does not say (out loud) that I look like crud, but her poker face needs work.

Go home. Lie down, but try not to fall asleep because there just isn't enough time for a decent nap.

Pick up Miss Teen and carpool kid and drive to New Orleans. (After placing two blankets, a thermos of coffee, three magazines and the newspaper into the car)

Park car in school parking lot, pull both blankets over me, put on ear warmer headband, tilt back car seat and sleep for an hour. Wake up, pour myself some coffee, read magazines and do the newspaper crossword.

Drive Miss Teen and carpool kid back home. Lie down in bed.

Miss Teen walks through and asks if I am feeling OK. Duh.

Hubby has to go to Mississippi to check on his father who is developing an infection in his arm. 9pm, call hubby to see when he will be home. Father in law gets on the phone and says I sound like I am sick. Duh.

9:30, hubby is home and I am going to bed.

I really hope to feel better tomorrow.
