At this time tomorrow, Jodi and I will be flying high over the Midwest on our way to California. We will be there for Christmas and to meet my grandson, River. I have been so nervous and excited about the trip, I’ve actually broken out in hives a couple of times! As the time grows nearer, I’m less nervous and more excited. It’s going to be a great trip! I do love to travel. I can’t wait to see my son and daughter-in-law. I was thinking about the words, daughter in law. I don’t think I like that term. It sounds so cold and legal, not at all how I feel about her. Calling her my son’s wife sounds distant. I think I prefer the word, daughter. I do think of her as a daughter, she is part of my family. And I think the world of her.

I’m getting my hair done in a little while; I have started packing, if you can consider having my stuff lying in different piles in a variety of places, packing. Then yes, I’m packing.

I have run just about all the errands, I have to go by the bank, grocery store and library, but I’m pretty sure everything else is done.

Guess I better get moving! …California, Here we come!
