Computer guy came today. After discussion of levels of repair (and a lot of miscellaneous other stuff) he said he could do an upgrade for a couple of hundred. That sounded a lot better to me than a new computer on down the line. It will be about halfway between what I have now and what I'd get with a new one.

So I am using the laptop. That's my excuse for more than the usual number of typos.

Part of the typo thing is the different slant to the keyboard, and part is because I'm not at a desk but on the couch. With the TV on.

And--we're getting a hard freeze tonight. I have the garage door slightly open--wide enough for critters if they want better shelter.

My giant cat is very friendly. He is not stupid and probably knew what he was doing when he surrendered his crown jewels.

The TV news is focusing on the plight of the homeless who live on the streets. All sorts of agencies are offering shelter.

The North Shore (my area) is expecting a hard freeze. My indoor/outdoor thermometer looks to be at about 32(F).

The coldest weather I've been in was 47 below--in Wyoming. I do not miss it.

So, I'll be getting a seriously upgraded computer back in a few days, for considerably less cost than a new computer.

And he did some stuff with the laptop to make sure it was also in top condition.

And now to find some socks and curl up under the afghan and cat.
