This afternoon was the retirement party for the head of the Women's Center. Let me tell you--the food was marvelous beyond belief. They had yummy food for both vegetarians and carnivores, and the sweet desserts were instantly addictive.

The bartender in the library recognized me--he'd had one of my classes in 2004. He's back at Xavier after a semester at some school in the Carolinas. Katrina refugees got a semester of free tuition at all sorts of colleges, and this kid is on track to graduate in December, by taking another summer semester.

The university president was probably there, but I wouldn't know him if I fell over him. Actually, I knew very few of the people there.

I reached a milestone of sorts today when I finally decided that the box about Mary's first run for Treasurer was essentially complete. I wrote up a preliminary inventory and have (hopefully) set aside the box. I think her first year as treasurer will pretty much fill another box, and then her run for Governor (unsuccessful) yet another. My goal is to have all the stuff from the press agent's files inventoried and processed by the end of May.

YD swung by and put out food for my beasts so they were reasonably content when I finally got home.

And I am tired and I'm going in to work tomorrow, so I need to get to bed at a decent hour--after I read the mail and the paper..
