I got to work nice and early this morning--and found a large carton on my desk. It was from my Rochester friends and had a bunch of books about various political women. When the librarian arrived I showed them to her, and within the hour they were entered into the system, tagged, bar-coded, security-coded, and on the shelves. A couple of them are in Howard-Tilton (the "main" library of Tulane) but the Women's Center library had none of them before today.

The next thing I noticed was that the ten completed archival boxes from the PR person had disappeared. They had been moved into the archives--a good three feet above the floor (which had had water 18" deep after Katrina.)

And--we are all glued to the weather radar. Erin was just a tropical depression when she went ashore near the Texas/Mexico border. But---Dean is being closely monitored. (And I'll bet anti-depressant usage has gone up.)

I got home this afternoon in plenty of time to feed the beasts, grab a bite for myself, then get out to WalMart, where I got my new glasses. They didn't need any adjustment at all.

After that I did some bits and pieces of shopping. It's not enough to last me through a week, but I can probably do my "regular" weekly shopping about mid-week.

When I got back I put out some more raccoon cat food in case Lady wants to snack tonight. Last night I heard quite a few little crunching noises when Lady (and the rest of the pride) were inside.

I'll spend the rest of this evening watching TV and reading. And day after tomorrow is the weekend!
