Football has been the background activity today. It was hard to avoid--ESPN was going on and on in the morning. And then there were pre-game shows, and the games themselves. I've got the Green Bay/Giants game on in the other room. It's below zero (F) in Green Bay. I think I'm rooting for the Packers--their quarterback (Farve) is from just acros the MS border. Yes, I know the Giants QB is from New Orleans (Eli Manning) but I just can't get too excited about him. At least, not yet. Judging by the TV noise coming into the back of the house, it's half time. (Nope--it was a commercial break.)

I just watched the big raccoon work the lid to the ice chest. (S)he knows just where to pry to get the cover up, at least far enough to get a paw in and retrieve a small dog biscuit. And another and another. Last night I tossed an apple core out there and it had disappeared this morning.

It was cold here today and my little Lady decided that indoors was, all things considered, the best place to be. CC has "found" a great place to sleep: I have one of those fold-up canvas chairs, and it just happens to be over a register. Add a crocheted poncho and it is cat heaven.

I don't have to get up early tomorrow--the school is closed. I'll be working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. If it's a bit warmer tomorrow I may try to get some yard stuff done.

Meanwhile, back to the football game.
