I got all sorts of little dumb stuff done today, beginning with cat box cleaning. What is it about cats that as soon as the fresh litter is in place, they feel obliged to "christen" it?

My biggie, though, was working outside. It was a lovely day and I got the original wheeled barrel filled with weeds that drop seeds all over, including those little triangular ones that stick to everything. I think I spent almost half an hour picking the expletive expletive seeds off my sweatshirt and slacks. I looked at the socks, which were really bad, and decided they were an old pair anyway and tossed them. My right wrist looks like I was attacked by a many-toothed animal, but it was "only" a couple of belligerent blackberry bushlets.

The good part is that I can see all that I got cleared. I was working on the side by my really nice neighbors. I hate for them to look out on a weed pile.

I worked outside more than an hour with no discomfort to my back. I will NOT let that go seven months again!

And I plan to do more in the yard tomorrow.

(I'll find another old pair of socks so I can just toss them rather than pick weed seeds off.)
