I managed a good night's sleep and an alarm clock that went off when I expected it. End result was that I left the house just after 0630. And got to work just under an hour later.

I plugged away at the Alumnae Records and they are slowly making sense. There's a LOT about reunions--especially things like the 50th. (Note: this is the year the class I entered Cornell with is having its 50th.)

What is interesting are the bios that many of the people fill out. They end up being copied and collated into a booklet for each (living) alum of that year. Some of the women have business careers of their own, but (considering the time period) many raised families and used their skills in the volunteer world.

Almost all the 1945 grads commented on WWII--which began (for the U.S.) during their first semester. The European part ended just before they graduated.

The huge trucks were there again today--and the first thought was correct--they're filming something. Today there were gold, green, and purple bags of stuff--probably for some kind of a Mardi Gras scene. There was also an old school bus with its windows covered with a wire mesh. Sort of like you sometimes see for transporting prisoners. But it held equipment of some type. I don't really have a great view of what's going on--just the giant trucks parked nearby.

I'll probably make it a three-day weekend. I think the weather's supposed to be okay. With all the recently disturbed dirt where Fabian is buried I think I'll toss out some of my old flower seeds and see what happens. With several cats loose in the area, I don't think the birds will take a chance on eating the seeds.

I haven't seen any evidence of bird snacks, but the other night I do believe that Lady had herself a mouse. That's a good kitty! (As long as she eats the whole thing--or eats it outside.)

One more day till a new month.
