I slept really poorly last night, but I must have gotten several chunks of quality sleep in there somewhere because I've been feeling nice and "perky" today.

Of course, I haven't gotten too much done, but so what.

I did some "stuff" around the house, petted cats, etc.

Spots really likes my new outside paper-reading routine. He plunks himself into the chair next to mine and responds happily to random head scritches.

CC "helps" me at the computer. And I stay alert for the flailing tail. So far today she's been content to merely push the keyboard half off the table so that she has room for a bath.

I'll be home tomorrow working on stuff at home and typing up the third (of three) inventories for the collection at Newcomb I've been working on.

There's always something--but then that's a good reason to get up in the morning.

I'm going to "reward" myself for getting that thing typed up tonight by having a pedicure tomorrow. And then I may also give my car a present by taking it to the car wash.

The noon news here headlined something other than the oil slick. It was the announcement of the new police chief for New Orleans. The man was fairly high up in the ranks here before he took on the job of chief in (I think) Atlanta. (It was a major city.) I sure hope he's as good as he seems. At least he is familiar with the city and the uniqueness of the culture.

Time for me to put out the various critter foods.
