There is nothing unusual about afternoon rain here--in fact it's almost the norm in the summer.

Even though the humidity is up a bit, it's going to be good sleeping tonight.

Today was filled with the usual excitement. In fact, it got so overwhelming that I headed for Arby's for supper and a view of different surroundings from those at home.

Stopped at Walgreen's on the way home--I was out of raccoon chow. They will have to subsist on puppy chow till I get out to WalMart again. I don't think they are picky about free food. And Mama's outlook is probably that of "I don't care what it is, just as long as they get filled up with it and leave me alone."

I finished Gibbon's Decline and Fall at Arby's this evening. I'll mail it off to Calif. in a day or so. (That translates as when I find an envelope, and am going past a post office.)

Now I have to look at the "unread" shelf shelves and decide what to read next. I've got a lot of choices.

At the moment, this area is under a low pressure system. That accounts for the rain--and aching joints. That's not an old wives' tale--if you think about it, it makes perfect sense for tired joints to ache a bit when there is less atmospheric pressure on them.

So, another day about gone. I plan an exciting evening of reading and TV.
