Mood:
Silly

I engaged in some "retail therapy" a few weeks ago and picked up a Toshiba Gigabeat S, a 60 GB digital media (MP3, WMA, WMV and JPG) player.

It has some sembalance of a USB root hub in it, so I can hook up my digital camera to it. Oh, yeah, that was the other bit of retail therapy, a Samsung Digimax L60. Anyhow, the Gigabeat has this one cable ending in a USB A jack (female, not plug) and when I plug the camera into it, the camera detects it's hooked up to some sort of upload host and prompts me to save photos. Neat.

Oh, and the silliness in the mood? I've a new addiction: Koyote (sometimes spelled "Koyotae", other times "코요태".)

No, I don't read Korean. I don't know even how to say, "Where is the bathroom" in Korean. In a way, it's refreshing; normally I am aware that I'm slightly 'deaf' to lyrics and their meaning. Now, I have an excuse.

Yeah, that's silly, to listen to music in a language I don't speak. The music is catchy and upbeat. I especially love the dance numbers, which often start with one of the band members rapping in English (and pretty damn well-pronounced, so it's not "Engrish") and Korean. Yes, rapping. In English. (And Korean.) There's something refreshing about hearing some lines of rap that aren't about drugs, violence, gangs, etc.

Of course, the Korean lyrics could, but I doubt it. They look very clean-cut. See for yourself. Here are some YouTube links to some of their songs:
