Let's take an assessment of my life.

Home: All of the rooms are in a "under construction" state. No, not bare joists and studs. My bedroom is insulated with moving boxes. I've still not fully unpacked, and I've been in residence over half a year. No one completely unpacks every last box after a move, but I still have twenty or thirty of them, and I've not unpacked any since the initial flurry.

Having my In-Laws stay with us, in that bedroom, did put a stop to it. Unfortunately, inertia is a psychological force as well. I stopped work on it, other things took over the energy I was apportioning to unpacking, and I'm tapped out again.

The ceiling was scraped free of the popcorn texturing, exposing drywall and tape. It's been like this since Halloween or so. The walls have a dated 'orange peel' texture under a pale yellow paint. Everything here looks circa 1970s.

None of this is a bother if SpouseKitty and I weren't planning on renovating this condo. We plan to modernize, to put in track lighting, modernize the decor, and pretty much rework the kitchen. We are living our lives on hold. There's no point in further unpacking because we'll need to pack up when (if) we renovate.

I don't know when they'll get started. Our condo's slab floor (not foundation, oddly enough) has a crack in it, and we need the association to look at it and possibly fix it. That will take time and cajoling. Until then, we can't do anything in the condo itself.

Life on hold, in the meanwhile.
