I have now met neighbors from three of the houses on our street. Sittin' on the sippin' porch in the evening, cool breeze, shaded from the setting sun, listening to birdsong and some Mexican hybrid of Mariachi/hip-hop. In our previous two shared residences Mrs. The Fyd and I knew none of our neighbors.

Now the cats have more sunshine then ever to lie in. This house seems to glow inside; in the mornings light floods the back of the house. In the evenings the sun sets through the trees across the street; the light is more diffuse and hazy, and that's when sitting under the porch roof these first few days in the house has been most relaxing and convivial.
