After several entreaties, the city has finally towed the car that was parked in front of our house since last September. I opened the front door this morning and the absence of the sea-foam-green Camry was startling, then I felt relief akin to a good bowel movement.

So that trial is over. What next? Will the owner of the recently departed auto now show up and berate me for my audacity in using the city's abandoned car service? I'd best have the baseball bat in hand every time I open the door for the nonce. This might also prove useful to deter the plague of local political candidates gearing up for the spring primaries; apparently they are of that caste that feels "NO SOLICITING" signs do not apply to them.
