Much to my surprise, I keep writing journal entries. I'm currently waiting for some tea to steep (to soothe my throat -- I must have yelled more than I realized last night, because I have that screamed-myself-almost-hoarse thing going on). Also waiting for the wedding programs to finish printing. Much waiting. Heather's off getting her hair done. Her mother is putting together flowers in the living room. I should shave soon.

Last night was fun. I went over to the hotel around 2:30, where my groomspeople (and the marvelous Lynne, who is our go-to person for the wedding) pressed a drink into my hand, and much laughter and merriment ensued. (Heather, meanwhile, was getting her nails done with her bridespeople.) I was rather drunk when the time came for the wedding rehearsal, but even so it went quite well -- and, given that I'll be sober for the real thing, presumably it will go even more smoothly! Assuming the ring bearer doesn't go haring off into the woods, etc. Then a large group of us, including my brother and my dad, went out to get some dinner, which was a convivial experience. Afterward, we returned to the suite, where Scott & Lynne & Jenn had prepared a wine and cheese and fruit spread for out-of-town guests. I took it easy on the wine, in order to be more-or-less sober by the time I needed to go home. Heather and I left at a very reasonable hour (10:00 p.m.), came home, drank a lot of water, and went to bed.

I woke up around 1:30 a.m. with a migraine, only the second one I've ever had. The timing was not so great. Presumably it was triggered by stress (possibly the ever-popular stress-and-booze combo!). So I had a miserable couple of hours when I could think of nothing but pain and nausea. Heather got me cold cloths and otherwise took care of me. I finally got to sleep, and woke up this morning feeling basically okay, if under-hydrated.

And here I am. In about 4 hours, I'll be standing in front of friends and family, getting hitched. Whoo!
