OK, OK, so I'm not exactly keeping up with the 50,000 word pace (if I had, I'd be over 10,000 words by now)-- but at least I'm back on my self-selected minimum pace of 1,000 words a day. I'd make excuses about how hard it is to find time to write, but the truth is I was just lazy this weekend. Although much of my prime Saturday evening writing time disappeared when I got invited to Nn and Minnesota J's apartment-warming party. Yeah, that was definitely worth being behind a little in my pace. Let's just say I had a few nice conversations, and someone very gallantly walked me back to my subway station even though he could have gone to another one. Also? I was walking outside at 3 in the morning in November and I didn't even have to button up my jacket. I guess this is our reward for having to wait until Memorial Day for Spring to arrive.

I realized while preparing my Christmas list (yeah, already) for my mom that the one thing I really, really, want for Christmas is ....a Roomba. I know. I'm old. And boring.
