No Such Thing as a (Good) Free Lunch

Apparently, Taco Bell is giving away free tacos if someone steals a base in the World Series. To which I say -- have you ever had a Taco Bell taco? Those things are disgusting! Even the shells are too thick and too salty, and don't even get me started on the "special sauce" they mix in with the "ground beef."

I spent a good portion of the spring semester of my junior year of high school eating Taco Bell tacos because there were (at the time, at least) no Kids' Meals that did not include tacos and the entire point of eating at Taco Bell was to get a Kids' Meal, because that was when the original Star Wars movies were being re-released, and it was a thing (ok, a geek thing) at my high school to collect all of the Star Wars themed toys Taco Bell was including in their Kids' Meals. I have no idea what happened to mine; Yoda's probably still got the boxes preserved under plastic somewhere. (I don't call her Yoda for no reason.) Anyway, I ate more than my fair share of Taco Bell tacos and I thought they were gross the entire time. And I would go on to spend most of my college years eating Taco Mayo tacos, where I'm not sure they even used real beef, so I know from bad tacos.

Now I want a Taco Bueno soft taco (I'm doing a Homer Simpson-esque "mmmmm, soft taco" right now), but I can't get one until I go home for Thanksgiving. Now if they would like to announce their plans to ship free tacos all across the country if someone steals a base, then I will get excited. So ends the latest installment of TresGeek: Fast Food Tex-Mex Gourmet.
