Mood:

Hm. Feel slightly embarrassed now about that previous entry. One of the great joys of web journals: immortalizing your mood swings for all the world to see. Wooo.

But, hey. One of the things that I like about web journals is that they demonstrate that even the most cool and together people have weird mood swings or hang-ups or insecurities.

Not to mention an endless appetite for nattering about meaningless trivia.

Has anyone else noticed that Jack Osbourne looks like a hobbit? A hobbit with a definite genetic relationship to Ozzy Osbourne, mind you...but.

Drat. This would be a perfect excuse to cue up Black Sabbath's "Wizard" or "Fairies Wear Boots", but they are unaccountably not in my iTunes library. Tomorrow I'll have to locate my CD of We Sold Our Soul for Rock and Roll and rectify that.

Why, yes, I'm sitting here reading Spin magazine in the middle of the night, because I have tomorrow (or today, if you want to be pedantic) off from work.

It may just be me, but Spin seems even more than usually fluffy this month. I read a few sentences of an article, and go, "Oh, yeah, wait. I know how this one goes." There's really only a limited number of stories: Band you've never heard of who are going to revolutionize rock and roll turn out to be a surprisingly normal and down to earth bunch of blokes for rock and roll. Band you've never heard of who are going to revolutionize rock and roll turn out to be surprisingly fucked-up and crazy, even for rock and roll. Reporter-in-denial gushes about how new album by washed-up-has-beens is fresh and relevant and will revolutionize rock.

Hey, Washed-Up Has-Beens is a pretty good band name. I wonder if it's ever been used?

Apparently, though, it is currently entirely okay to admit in public that you like Duran Duran. What a relief! (Though I am also relieved to see that not even Spin could dig up a reporter willing to claim that Duran Duran's forthcoming reunion album was going to revolutionize rock.)

Okay, I'm off to bed! Later!
