I had many plans for this past weekend - I was going to unpack and put together furniture and run out to Home Depot and go to a writers' group meeting and stuff.

And then I got sniffly and sore-throaty Friday night, and it got worse Saturday morning, and I realized that I had a cold. Kind of a strange cold - I wasn't *that* congested, nor was my throat *that* sore, but I was completely exhausted. So, on Saturday, I slept a lot, and read Pamela Dean's _The Hidden Land_, and managed to cook a pretty decent chili. By Sunday, Daniel had the stupid cold too, so we were a merry pair. I skipped the writers' group meeting, mostly because I wasn't sure I could manage to drive there safely. We did manage a quick run out to the bookstore to pick up _The Whim of the Dragon_ (sequel to _The Hidden Land_), and another quick run later in the day for some takeout. We spent the evening drinking chai and watching _Pirates of the Caribbean_ on DVD.

Actually, you know, if you take out all the part about feeling sick and tired and sleepy and grumpy and stupid, and ignore all the chores and errands undone, that's actually a description of a pretty good weekend.

I'm mostly over the cold. I still feel tired. If I had a ton of paid time off saved up, I'd probably have taken today off from work just so I could sleep in and read _Whim of the Dragon_. But I don't, so I'm here and I'm getting stuff done.

Time for me to get back to it, I suppose.
