Happiness is a warm mushroom...

...well, okay, maybe not. But, I can report, as a result of last night's kitchen experiment, that if you take a couple of nice big portobello mushrooms, slosh Worcestershire sauce over them liberally, and grill them about for about 10 minutes per side, and then serve them up on a freshly toasted bun topped with grilled tomatoes and onions and fresh basil, the result is really really yummy.

Last night's kitchen experiment was courtesy of Daniel's latest kitchen gadget acquisition: one of those countertop electric grill thingies (a la the George Foreman grill, though we got a different brand.) Daniel loves to buy kitchen gadgets, even though I do most of the cooking. The grill, I think, is a hit.

Meanwhile, a little net research tells me that a portobello is nothing more than an overgrown crimini (a.k.a brown mushroom.) Criminy, indeed.

Am feeling much better today than I did yesterday. Finished Pamela Dean's Whim of the Dragon last night. Liked it a lot. Had a fun lunch with boss and coworkers today (I typoed 'coworders' for that, and was it was so appropriate that I almost let it stand.) Am getting back into gear on various projects.

Was even referred to as a goddess by a coworker, which is always nice. Mind you, he referred to me as the 'Printing Specifications goddess', which I think is a very minor deityhood, perhaps one of the least and humblest gods of fair Belzoond, who seldom send the famine or the thunder, and are easily appeased with little battles.

And even more easily appeased with large mushrooms.
