JS Blog review...

I saw an entry in Rhubarb's blog that talked about reviewing the blog entries from the start of her blog, and how some of them might make a good book, sort of a memoir. I thought, great idea!

So it inspired me to go back and look at my own entries. I started this blog in December of 2005, with very little idea of what it was I wanted to say. My father was very ill and died right around the time I started this blog, but I didn't really write about him, except to post a short story I had written (as flash fiction) titled GRANDPA. It wasn't about my dad, but it felt right at the time. That was my first entry.

What I realized was that I still really don't have too much of an idea of what I want to say in this blog. I've started two other blogs, one Disney-specific, which tends to ramble around topics, and the other a Chicago sports blog, which also rambles from team to team. (See 'em over there to the left? They're both there!)

I have reviewed books, posted reading lists, talked about my musical hobby, written political entries, commented on music in general, commented on sports, on current events, and occasionally just posted life/diary entries and stream of conscience entries - writing about whatever popped into my head.

Very little direction in this blog. And I just don't see entries that could become a book. It's just too unfocused for anything like that.

Yet, I've enjoyed it enough to keep it going for going on eight years now, albeit at a reduced pace of writing entries.

Let's see how the next eight go...
