Movies, Tatoos, Games, Money.
=============================

Yep, that's pretty much it. That pretty much covers everything cool since the last time I had an entry here.

Movies:

MADE was okay, not as good as it's predessesor Swingers (same people, characters, writers, producers) but it had an interesting premis. I think it may have suffered the expectations of all sequels. You want it to be better than the first, and you want it to be original, but if it's a sequel that cuts the originality that you liked when you saw the first one.

Planet of the Apes was really neat. I loved the acting. Dialog could have been stronger, but all in all it was a cool movie. Costumes, makeup, and setting were excellent.

American Sweethearts was okay. I've seen that particular group of actors do better on an individual scale but altogether it worked. John Cusack was interesting, I love his batty characters.

Wow, for being a Critical Studies film grad, those descriptions are really sparse. I think I need to refresh my crit studies skills in order to have more to say on movies these days.

Films aren't as complex as they used to be.

On to tatoos, and no I didn't get one. I speant all of Friday evening and Saturday working on sketches and descriptions and working with Dennis DePalma for the tatoo that he wants. It's going to be a very detailed and interesting version of The Hanged Man tarot card. We went through some tarot cars and some books, and came up with some awesome variations on the style. I should have some compositions ready by this weekend, am really proud of what I have ready so far.

Games: Got a few things straightened out with who's in charge here as far as being storyteller for my chapter. I'm really looking forward to having a really cool game on the 18th of this month. Los Angeles needs some interestingtwists to the game, and I hope I can provide them. *evil grin*

On to Money. I've had a billion suggestions and a billion ideas of my own as to what to do with the 54K that I received from my father's life insurance last week. After almost a year now there was actually something that came in. We weren't even sure it all would. Big surprise. I am really thankful to my brother who's been playing a lawyer ever since September to deal with all of the things having to do with insurance, debt, and all things realted to teh passing of my father. God knows I wouldn't have been able to manage it all. Without him, I don't think we would have seen as much come through as we have, so I want to be really careful and not Besides a car, and perhaps paying all of my credit cards outright, I don't know exactly what to do with it. There are so many possibilities. I think I may just put it away for three years and spend that time making some good strong plans. It's really exciting to have such a resource now. :)

Unfortunately, not all has been happy, but maybe some things are for the best even if they are bad. Last weekend, a simple visit with my little brother turned into 5 and a half hours of sitting in a waiting room with my nervous little brother as his girlfriend was having some complications with her pregnancy, bleeding and all that. That night, the doctors weren't quite sure what was wrong, but they sent her home after an ultrasound. The took another ultrasound a couple of days later, and a couple of days and tests after that they determined that the baby has died and had to remove it because her body was not going to get rid of it on it's own. She was in shattered. My brother was very sad, but I think at the same time relieved that his girlfriend was okay and I think he has a litle less to worry about now as far as stresses of young father-hood (he needs to be careful in the future dammit!)

Again, I'm going to try to put a little more into this journal. So, if I wind up running off with Marhsall to the bahamas or spending a year in Austrailia with aboriginees (yeah, spelled horribly, bit me) learning how to use a dart blower, you'll read all about it. :)
