Location: Work. I reviewed what was the beginning of a longer entry that I posted last night, after finishing Training Day, and opted to remove it for the moment. The film was very powerful. It opened pathways in my mind to myriad people, places, and events that I'm not sure I'll be able to talk about, here or anywhere else. Part of me very much wants to talk about them; another part of me very much does not. They are all part of the landscape of "my other life" (to quote Terry Moore) and articulation has never come easy for me when dealing with that topic. Much more time, and thought, will need to be invested before I can write anything of substance in that vein. For the time being, I'll simply suggest that you see Training Day, if only for the shots of the Jewelry/Fashion District downtown and Echo Park--areas of Los Angeles that I love and that are often ignored by the industry. The rest will come when I figure out what it is I want to say. On a lighter note, while contemplating this, I peeled an orange, rearranged my files and took several quizzes. Behold. enneagram test I was a little startled by this analysis, so I took the test again--and again. After three attempts at clarifying some of the more vague answers I had given, I was more of a 5 than when I began. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
