Got another call from our social worker today. Frank Adoption Center, which is handling our actual international adoption, called her to ask about our application - we had mentioned I had received counseling in the past. Apparently our incompetent worker didn't even see it listed on our application to her (which it was).

Long story short and avoiding me telling you about personal details, our paperwork is held up ONCE AGAIN until she is satisfied I'm "normal" and have never been medicated. More hoops to jump through. All should be taken care of by middle of next week, at which point we can return to our regularly scheduled paperwork shuffling.

I am, yet again, very angry about this. Again called Doug in quite a huff, and he again was all darn logical about it. He pointed out that I was going to have to deal with these things better in the future, because it's probably the second of many set-backs, re-filling-out of forms, and paper chases we will have to do. This is all VERY insane.

Doug mentioned they probably just want to make sure I was never medicated, hospitalized, or had a psychotic episode. We then both started laughing - one could make a case for some of my emotional outbursts as "psychotic episodes"! (not to make light of those who do suffer from psychosis, of course).

Thank goodness we're not in a rush to get things done and are taking our time. Otherwise I think I'd be even doubly frustrated!
