Last Monday was bad, and today was so-so. I discovered my time limit with a cranky child is 6:30pm. Well, he napped later today than usual as well - 3:45 to 4:45. So I was in the middle of prepping meatloaf when Roman woke and was very hungry. Then Doug came home and wanted to mow the lawn. All this while ground beef is sitting on the counter, half prepped. Grrr.

Well, the lawn was mowed, the child was fed, and we had dinner. Then I dusted and vacuumed and basically picked up around the house. We have a hutch again! I hate not being able to do things when I want to.

I have to tell you, today I got bored. I think this is why I could never be a full time stay-at-home mom. Mornings go by quick, between playtime, naptime, eating time. Then roundabout 1:00 I get bored. I can't do what I WANT to do (get engrossed in a book, scrapbook, play Civ) because an eye still needs to be spared on Roman. It's a tough time, because if I go out driving somewhere, I have to make sure it's not too far or for too long; Roman will sleep in the car and then there will be no nap in the afternoon at all.

So today I went to Costco and got diapers, graham crackers, and fruit cups. We did attempt some finger-feeding today. Bread, cheese, and pears. Pears were frustrating for Roman, but he eventually figured out how to "corner" them so he could pick them up.

Annoying things about my child:
1. He has begun to "blow strawberries" (pbbt his lips) with food in his mouth.
2. He has begun screaming at the top of his lungs to communicate.
3. He will no longer lie still for a diaper change.
4. He wants to walk but still can't, so gets cranky when YOU don't walk him.
5. He has begun throwing real temper tantrums.

Did I mention that we've begun our version of discipline?
