Have I mentioned that Rose wants to be an actor when she grows up? We've discussed the fact that actors don't earn any money, so she's going to be a barista or substitute teacher to support herself. I just thinking acting is incredibly fun.

Rose had her first drama camp of the summer this week. This one was a half day camp at Seattle Children's Theater which involved a lot of driving to the Seattle Center in dreadful traffic. Lucky for me, John and the mother of one of Rose's friends who was also taking the class did almost all the carpooling.

Rose has been taking drama play classes at the Seattle Children's Theater since she was four, but this was her first class in the acting sequence. Acting 1 is their prerequisite for all the advanced acting classes. They do this class without any scripts and work on stage movement and voice control. Rose had a blast. Every afternoon she came home exhausted and then we demanded to know all the games they played. We played the queen game at the Fourth of July and all the kids loved it. She has two more drama camps coming up this summer.
