Tonsils, anyone?

I've had the stupid things for 18 years and every doctor has decided that a round of antibiotics would do the trick. For 18 years. They're currently worse than they've ever been, but, on the bright side, the doctor actually thinks that maybe things would be better without them. She's also testing for Epstein-Barr virus ($225 for the test! Eek!), which would explain both the tonsils from hell and the chronic fatigue. Whee. Does anyone have 2k they're not using?

Just finished "Veniss Underground", to the disturbance of Andreas. So what if I finished it in 2 hours? I mean, sheesh, he says, "you need to read this" and I did. Anyway, very dark, very unhappy, good technique. Also an excellent reworking of the descent into hell for the lost love. Very nice.

Writing accomplished: none. Just none. I don't know why...between my tonsils and generall ickiness, I haven't finished a thing. On the up side, I should be able to ask my subconscious for a story I wanted done. Could be good. Better if it's in time for Christmas. Need to send out F&B and re-write "Home" and give it a title. And possibly kick out a chapter on what could be a novel, but I really hope not, 'cause it's a lot of work for something that I know I'd have to throw away. So maybe I can whip it back into a short story, or a novellete at best.

Went to a signing by Pat Cadigan last week, and very glad we went. Very interesting person. I don't think I've actually read anything of hers, but that should soon be solved. And yes, for shame on me. Thanks to Jason Lundberg for the clue-in that she was going to be here.

Currently Reading: "The Bonesetter's Daughter" and "Lost Boys"

Recommend: "Fugitives and Refugees" by Chuck Palahniuk. The only guide to Portland, OR you'll ever need. :)

Stories out: 2
