I've averaged a book a day over the weekend, which is part of why I can never keep track of all the books I read in a year. :/ Oh, well. I suppose I should prod my brain into relinquishing the rest of that story I've been working on. Any of them, really.

So far since this time last week: The Rising, House of Blood, Scattered, Covered, Smothered, The Secret Life of Bees, The Eyre Affair, and Lost in a Good Book.

I'm rather enthused about Fforde, who does an excellent job at his plot arcs, world, humor, characters...pretty nearly everything. The down side is that now I *really* want a pet dodo. They apparently go "plock, plock", love to go for walks, and think marshmallows are the best thing ever. You can see my problem. Even a stuffed dodo would be nice, but somehow it's not made it onto the 'things to be made into stuffed cuddlies' list.

And yes, The Secret Life of Bees is a chick book. Sue me. :p

And now, to go home and carefully read The Well of Lost Plots as it's signed and I don't have a reading copy.
