I'm kind of a bad sickie. I've been ill over the past couple of days and I took today off of work because of it.

At this point I can at least swallow without being in pain but my ears are still stuffed and my nose has been continually runny. Thank goodness though, I haven't had a fever.

Yesterday I was better at staying put as there wasn't much to do. Molasses and I (who has also been sick and who I likely got this bug from) ran a couple of errands, got ColdBusters from JambaJuice and settled in to watch In the Name of the Father. It was interesting. Though everyone in it speaks intensely quiet and fast which my poor beleaguered American ears could barely catch. It was interesting to see the story of the hapless individuals caught between two sides who consider themselves at war. (Last week we also rented and watched Windtalkers which was ok, but hardly groundbreaking. It was pretty much everything I was figuring it would be, which is really too bad.) Then I dozed while Molasses baked some cranberry pies. Then we watched the Cowboy Bebop movie.

Today we slept in till about noon with a brief break at six to call in to work. Originally we were going to try to take it easy and do our laundry and stay in. Then other stuff got piled up and we ended up heading to LA to grab my laundry, to Fullerton for lunch, my parent's house to leave/pick up mail and then to Disneyland(!) and finally back - too late to do laundry. I expressly wanted to go to Disneyland when I heard the Haunted Mansion was done up in Nightmare before Christmas style (which is one of my favorite movies) but thought I would only be able to do it tomorrow night or not at all. But the opportunity presented itself today and we grabbed it. Annual passes rule! (and so does free parking which seems to be an open secret during the week, out-of-season and after dark) The only money we spent was on hot chocolate.

I tried to stay bundled up but I didn't really start the day with Disneyland in mind so I didn't do the best that I could. Hopefully that won't screw me up. I'm not eager to get back to work but I feel like I have a lot to do.
