Another delayed trip home, because of some last minute meetings and need to talk about plans. At the moment we are waiting for a tempermental device to upload its data into a computer, so I'll make this journal entry cover things until we have to go.

Darkness: it now falls. We're losing 10-20 minutes a day, on both ends, so it's now 11:00 pm and it's dark already. Only two weeks ago we had no dark at any point during the night.

Skyr: an Icelandic concoction that's kind of a combination of cream cheese, yoghurt and cream. It comes in a plain flavor as well as various fruit flavors. I like the plain in small amounts. Other Icelandic foods include rotten shark and ram's testicles, which I won't be trying. Apparently whale meat can be obtained here too, and tastes like a very good steak, so I may have to try it before leaving.

Interference: some of our devices have been having trouble taking readings in pastures or hay fields close to electric fences, overhead wires, and underground cables. As a result, sometimes we have to take extra steps to work around these obstacles. When we know about such things we can deal with them one way or another, but when we don't, we get some strange looking results.

Okay, the machine's data are all uploaded, so off to home for certain this time. Ciao.
