2006-12-01 4:40 PM Holiday stuff... Mood: Restless Read/Post Comments (2) |
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Depends on the time of the year. If you're talking about any time of the year, hot chocolate. Holiday season? Egg nog. You can't have a holiday without the nog!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Wrap 'em up! Santa wraps them every year. Heck, Berek got a present that was wrapped by Santa. :) 3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Colored and white lights are good. Houses with just white lights bother me! If they are with colored lights cool. On trees, well it depends on what the theme is. 4. Do you hang mistletoe? No..."mistletoe can be deadly if you eat it. But a kiss can be even deadlier, if you mean it." (Guess what movie that was from!) 5. When do you put your decorations up? After Thanksgiving. 6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Ham! 7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: I miss my grandmother. I remember everyone coming over to my parent's house and we would snack all day on cool fun stuff and then at dinner time we all sit together in the same room and watch a holiday specific movie. Thanksgiving is "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" and Christmas is "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation". My grandma loved those movies. Even though we've seen it like 100 times (beyond the holidays too), we all still laugh. Especially my grandma. I can still hear her laugh and it's been nearly 6 years since she's been gone. 8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? I think it was just plain old aging. Once your cognitive thoughts get a little more analytical, it's not too hard to put together. I figure it was probably about the time I hit 8 years old that I began to realize Santa was my folks. But it was still fun to pretend. Even now, I still pretend when I get presents from "Santa". 9.Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve? Always on Christmas Eve. That way we can play and enjoy everything on Christmas Day. (It's made things great for me up until now, so why change it? I mean then I can rest on Christmas Day if it falls on Monday...like this year.) 10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Depends on my mood. Usually colored lights of some sort and I try to go with a specific theme (color, type of ornament, style). 11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? I love it! If you live in Southern California you do have to drive to get to the snow, but it's well worth it. One of these days I want to rent a cabin in Big Bear or Mammoth for a weekend and just snuggle up with Berek next to a fire or throw snowballs at him. (He owes me snow anyway, so maybe we'll just go up to some snow this year and screw around. :D) 12. Can you ice skate? Not well, but I can. Weak ankles or no, I can do it. In fact, I'm going to do it in the near future with a friend of mine and maybe Berek. :) 13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I remember getting my Teddy Ruxpin and then the following year his buddy Grubby. Those were my all-time favorite Christmas gifts. 14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Family and friends. It's a time to spend with them and enjoy their company. People get so wrapped up in themselves the rest of the year that they tend to neglect their families and friends. 15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Lemon meringue pie! 16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation with my family. 17. What tops your tree? Depends on the theme. Last 2 years it was Superman. :) 18. What is your favorite Christmas/Holiday Song? Grandma got run-over by a Reindeer. (It was my grandma's favorite song.) 19. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? Yum! 20. Fruit cake! Yuck or Yum? Yum, unless it's dry, then yuck! Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
