Update on ankle...

Just a quick entry to update my continuing struggle with a broken ankle.

I got my cast off about 10 days ago, and have been in a walking boot since. I am moving around without crutches, but not pain-free. It's slow going and awkward, but it's doable.

I started physical therapy yesterday. Parts of it were fine (the electro-stim felt pretty good), and parts were similar to torture tactics. The massage he did on my ankle was killer. I gritted my teeth and wiped the sweat off my brow and bore it, but it was painful. The therapist said that he was working out the fluids from my ankle and breaking up scar tissue in the area. It's sore today. I don't know if it's more sore because of the therapy or it's just the way it is. I have to admit, though. It felt better in the hour or so after therapy. My ankle felt looser and more relaxed.

I have a bunch of exercises to do at home now, and they're actually a struggle to accomplish. Motions you take for granted (I can do them so easily with my left foot) actually make you sweat to perform them.

Ouch.

Anyway, I'm still coming along. Progress has been duly noted, but it is somewhat depressing to note that I have some ways to go yet.
