Resolved

I've decided to set some resolutions for myself this year, to see what, if anything, I can get done. I'm notoriously bad for diving into a project or goal, going full-steam at it for a little while, then losing interest and/or finding another goal to repeat the process with. We'll see how these pan out.

1. Get healthier. 280 is a pretty decent batting average. 280 is not, however, a good cholesterol level, especially in a 28-year old man. Also, finally see some sort of doctor regarding my back... the muscles keep getting tighter and tighter in my lower back (and subsequently, my hamstrings), to the point where I can no longer touch the floor with my fingertips if I stand straight-legged. Hey Kenny, does acupucture work for muscle issues?

2. Learn to drive. Yeah, yeah, I know. This has been a resolution for the last decade or so. But more and more (especially with the recent transit strike) I've come to realize that driving may not be a bad thing, regardless of what the 101 looks like at 7am. Besides, it'll make carrying groceries easier.

3. Stop biting my fingernails. This has been a bad habit of mine for a good part of my life, and I think I'm close to kicking it altogether.

4. Stop being walked all over. I've realized that I don't always get the credit for the things I do. Case in point - I bust my ass at work day in and day out, and make about $15K-$20K less than other people in my field with the same experience and doing the same as or less than me (thanks, Salary.com!). Fuck that noise. If they want me to keep that up, they better damn well appreciate it.

5. Keep in touch with my friends. I've fallen out of touch with a lot of people, friends who I've known for years and just haven't been good about staying in touch with. I really, really need to do something about this.

6. Be more financially responsible. Must... stop... wasting... money...

7. Post more in this journal. Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it too. :)

Those are the major ones right now. I'm sure I'll think of other things I need to work on as time progresses.
