Well, it's Tuesday. In other words, my least favorite day of the week. On Mondays, the shock of waking up early after a weekend usually pulls me up out of bed and into a day of activity. By Tuesday, the shock's worn off.

Oh well. I've spent the day taking too long at simple bits of work, just because my mind is moving too slowly. Where did the afternoon go??

But I got my student loan check--yay! And last night, in the high of getting that good news, I wrote a complete new short story, "Bone Mother." (It's a short-short, which is why I managed to finish it in an evening.) Good things! Today I'm tempted to revise straight through it, but I'm going to try to take a few days off (and concentrate on new stuff).

Now Nika's staring at me imploringly, so I'm off to take her on a long walk and clear my head.
