So, to continue the media circus, and the increased number of headlines and articles that everyone has been posting on their journals, here's CNN, Ghetto Style

So, today has sucked. Our datacenter was down, with all of the customers there, for several hours today because our upstream provider had a "fiber cut" where all of their North Eastern customers were affected, including us. It was fixed, but we have had more calls today by noon than the past two weeks total.

There's been a lot of mean customers today. I'm still bothered by the one customer that I had to be nice to (well, I didn't have to, but I generally always am) even though he called my employee a cunt. The outage was beyond our control, and it generally takes being told by management before they accept the fact. Some just like to be mean. It's annoying.

Also, due to the outage, we won't be getting a major project completed on time. The upside is that I don't have to stress about the project, because it's beyond my control, but the downside is that it just doesn't get done, and my group was the last in charge of completing it. Grr.
