Job Searches, Possibly Shady Companies, HR, and More!

So-So

So I've gone into the office three days to use the internal network to find another position. I've applied to almost every local position that I qualify for. The responses that I've gotten range from two things:

1. The job was filled, apologies for the posting still being up.

2. Your job code (base salary) is too high for the position. (I've gotten this even for positions that are a step or two up on the management chain from where my position was)

So I'm home today to work on other searches more, because I just don't feel like I'm going to get very far with my two weeks of job search opportunities I've been given with my company. I'm really dissapointed in the fact that salary expectation seems to be knocking me off of the list faster than qualifications, and that so many positions in the listings that I am being given extra provliges to take advantage of are useless and outdated.

I'm going to keep going in, if nothing else but to just be a presence and see what I can find for the next week (shit, it's already been a week starting tomorrow *sigh*)

In other news, I was contacted by someone at corporate HR who wants to discuss the info I sent to the ethics office about this whole debacle.

I did have an interview on Tuesday for another company, ITA. I think it went really well, and that I was really impressive. My interviewer flew out from Chicago and seemed impressed with my experience at my age, and my attitude and enthusiasm... Unfortunately, they want me to pay my own way to a week of training sessions in Chicago at my expense for travel, that they will reimburse once I complete it. It would be a very comission based job, and a lot of travel, but that's not the problem...

They seem to have a not so good reputation with clients of employees from what I have found on various boards, and an unsatisfactory record with the BBB with possibly the most complaints I have seen in a BBB report.

So I'm not so sure I want to start out with a company that is already raising red flags as having some problems.

And the search continues. :)
