So I'm already in the middle of my third week at my new job. Wow. It's been busy, but I can honestly say that it has been a "good busy" over here. And busy without stressful is a very interesting experience.

I really dig this company, and the people who I work with are cool. I have a real feeling of independence that I didn’t have at my last job, and that I dug having when I was a manager. I have bosses who trust me. They’re really glad that I’m here. They encourage and value my opinion, and actively seek my input. They're easy going people to work for, yet also very professional and effective.

It has occurred to me that I never actually mentioned the name of the new company that I work for. I guess I got in the habit of being very vague with company names, employer names, and specifics when I was dealing with the issues and problems going on in my last job. It wasn't really on purpose for this job, just habit.

Anyways, my new neat-o company is Edmunds.com

So, aside from my job I've been keeping pretty busy. I've got more stage managers to train, will possibly be involved with After The Fall at the theater (I had to turn down directing it a while back but now it's been pushed back and has no stage manager), and if nothing else, will be directing in November. I helped a friend with a resume. I've been trying to keep up with all of the new stuff that has been introduced in my LARP games. I had a lot of bills to catch up on. Got a new phone, which has a camera and Vcast, and currently displays a picture of Zorak in a toupee. And among other bits and pieces, finally finished Harry Potter.

I had a couple of interesting observations about myself while reading Harry Potter. (No, don't worry, no spoilers) First off, I used to read a lot faster and a lot more than I do now. I need to get back to more reading, I really forgot how much I enjoy it.

The second is about reading a book in a series where characters have now been portrayed by actors in movies. Generally, for me anyways, if I see the movie before I read the book I can't help but picture the actors as the characters in my head. Sometimes, depending on how much I connected to the characters when I first read the story, a second reading of a story after seeing a film version will change, scenes and aspects of the movie will absolutely be present in the re-read.

I read the first three books before seeing any of the movies. I had solid characters in my head built from the stories. I was afraid, since I knew there would be more books, that watching the movies in between books would take away from my enjoyment of the next books, or interfere with them. I am happy to say that such was not the case, with one kinda cool exception. The aspects of the characters that I first created in my head are still all intact, except for the fact that every time I read dialog from Snape, I can't help but hear/read Alan Rickman's voice.

Allrighty, back to work for me, I've been adding to this entry all morning.
