Gushing. Again.

Yesterday just might qualify as one of the loveliest days in recent history. If this is how the coming months will be I could not ask for anything more. I guess it doesn’t take much for me to be utterly content.

After a relatively tolerable day at work (and I’m working on budget forecasting, which usually puts me in the blackest of moods), I left early enough in the afternoon to enjoy the sunny, eighty-degree day. After walking the dogs I went on a twelve-mile bike ride and, as usual, arrived home with that perfect combination of fatigue and elation. Spring is definitely evident in the valley and, cheesy as it sounds, I loved seeing the ducks already paired off, the muskrats busy at work, and the perfect green by the river. I love living so close to that stupid river.

Freckled and freshly showered, I headed to Lakewood for a barbecue with A and his friends. We drank wine and had some really incredible conversation before firing up the grill. One of A’s friends and I happily shared our fake meats (and damn, was I thrilled that the Gardenburger riblet thingies taste so darn yummy), and we spent the rest of the evening reveling outdoors. I had trouble dragging myself away.

Things are good. Still. Wow.
