Cat got some encouraging news yesterday....it seems like this new chemo cocktail is working on the new lesions in her liver.....her alk. phos. is 201, from 261. This is still elevated, but shows signs of coming down. She is on her 7day hiatus formt he Xeloda....restarts it after 5 more days. So this is very promising!!!!! The TYKERB is a still new, clinical trials drug, she is the "guinea pig" so to speak here, being the first one to take it in our area...and there is a still newer drug showing great promise being tested at present. So, we have options still available should this combo not work at some point.
More great news is that she is not exhibiting any of the "hand/foot syndrome" 5% of women had....we are watching the feet closely as well as hands....she is diligent about putting cocoa butter on them regularly. I will be doing foot patrol and "greasing" them up well also...we are so elated to hear this news, and we wanted to share it with you all....I know a lot of you have followed us on this post.....thanks for everyone's support, prayers, and just "being here"....
