Monday and hot

It is Monday again and it is hot out. It has been warm out all weekend-let's face it folks, it is July and it is summer! So why do they shut off the air conditioner over the weekend? You walk into a building that is stuffy and dead air. It is 7 floors plus the basement. It is expected to get into the mid 90s today without taking humidity into consideration, by tomorrow close to 100s, add in humidity and we are talking about 104 plus. And there isn't even any air cirulation! Oh, well, I dressed for it. I feel sorry for the guys-they can't roll up their pants. I have on a very light shirt and a skirt I can lift up above my knees while I am sitting down and it is very flowy when I walk. Better than pants! Plus plenty of cold water!!

Figured out that my knee is doing better. DH and I did our normal lets go to the movies on Saturday-out to breakfast, then Target for some needed stuff, then movies, then to get cat food (she's refusing to eat the canned chicken), and then a detour to Barnes and Nobel. Surprise me-only $30 in books instead of normal $100. DH made up for it in dvds. Anyway, left house at 9,got back at 7. Feet and knee did hurt some, but yesterday was not as painful as previous week. So I figure that knee is getting there. We weren't suppose to be gone that long.

I do realize that DH doesn't realize how much walking these Saturdays are for me. Even take out the movie watching time, and the sitdowns for the metro rides and waiting for the metro's, I am walking over 3 miles each time. It is not fast, but those strolls through store aisles, and down sidewalks, and down the stations to the spot where he wants to get on the train (usually some cars are emptier than others) etc. all add up. I do need to find a good pedometer!

Last week we had and arguement about how much walking I am doing. Just walking to the metro station is half a mile!(even if we do stop for breakfast on the way there-on the way back we don't stop!)

DH is home today with a kidney stone attack. He was real pissy last night and picky on everything. I should have realized something was happening. I didn't respond to his picking, disengagement works wonders. So do the words 'Stop It!' spoken firmly, but not angrily. I actually told him that he was getting wound up and he needed to wind himself down. Shut him up for awhile. Then it was bedtime.
