She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Ta ra!

Ken’s home! Ta ra! He’s got a bit of a cold, poor thing. I think he’ll spend the rest of today napping.

Did a bunch of copy editing. Made dinner (bbq chicken—we do so adore our George Foreman grill!—corn on the cob, and brown rice). Swam and then sat in the hot tub with Ken. Finished hand-hemming the new tunic and watched “Keen Eddie”. Now I’m staring at Chapter 8 and occasionally typing in a couple of words. This isn’t like me, and I don’t like it. I’m vaguely tired and headachey, which might be part of the problem.

Okay. As depressing as it is to start July without a word count, I’m not going to bother counting the few piddly words I eked out tonight. However, I did figure out how to tackle the problem of the difficult scene, and I’ll do so tomorrow.

And now it’s bedtime.
