Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Whaah?

Bugger all. I spent far too much time today pulling together notes on early Scandinavian/Viking costuming so I could teach at Costumer’s Guild tonight. Now I’m behind on copy editing, e-mail, writing… I don’t quite know how this happened. I didn’t spend _that_ much time researching and typing. And I only swam with Ken for a short time. And he made dinner, too.

Must get butt in gear tomorrow, though. I forgot we’d be going to a party on Friday. Well, I didn’t forget, so much as assume Ken would be away. The Korea thing is still iffy, so right now we’re operating on the assumption that he’ll still be around in two days.

In other news, in an effort to lose weight, I have once again done the “duh, obvious” thing. I’ve started keeping a food diary, to see how much I eat in a day, and also to force me to measure portions. I know one of my biggest problems is that I don’t have a clue what proper portion size is. The plus is that now I’m thinking twice before I put anything in my mouth (food, people! I’m referring to food! You all have filthy minds.) (Okay, yes, that’s why I like you.).
