Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Upheaves

Words Written: AETW: 1518

Gah, our network connection is still being flaky. It makes no sense. The only computer that can get Internet access in the afternoon and evening is Ken’s laptop. Despite the fact that the G4 (the office computer) is the one set up as the network hub. I even tried connecting Afalwen to the cable modem with a bloody cable, and couldn’t get in. Bizarre.

Ah well, it forces me to work on other things—things I should be working on anyway…

Life is in a bit of upheaval right now. Nothing I really want to talk about, I learned by mistake. The changes will be good in the long run, but all change brings both good and bad, positive and negative, and I’m struggling to get beyond the personal negative right now. I know that I’m not ready to talk about how I’m feeling. (I may have bruised my friendship with Phaedra; she was honestly trying to help, but I wasn’t in a space where I able to handle advice or even a pep talk. Mea culpa, really.)

Anyway, I should be able to announce at least some good news soon, if not several pieces of good news, for Ken and I.

Writing sucked yesterday because of the aforementioned upheaval; I did get 412 words on AETW. Today was definitely better, wordcount-wise. I can’t tell if it’s any good, but the point now is to lock my internal editor in the dungeon and get the draft done.

Tomorrow I must write early, for in the afternoon I’m helping Morgana paint the trim in her glorious meditation room. It’s a project she’s been lagging on, and she and I have realized that we work well when the other provides incentive. In other words, if we schedule a time to do X, X will finally get done.
